A little about ourselves
It all started with ...
Eddie and Stubby Scatchell starting up his little food stand back in 1953 in Cicero, Illinois; he probably hadn't any thought of this popular little place being around for over sixty years. That, in fact, has been the case and for the last thirty years, Frankie Levato and Barry Reggi have been running things just fine; expanding the building and fine tuning the menu. They have made Scatchell's their place and have achieved the status as an iconic neighborhood gem.
With signage that lights up the Cicero night like a Vegas show, their product takes center stage as they have continued to feature the same clean place with their homemade recipes and consistency. Their Italian Beef, sausage and pizza, as well as the Vienna Beef connection of hot dogs and polish sausage have been the stars of the menu and the show. Frankie and Barry even have many of the same reliable people working for many years, like Mena, who came directly from Italy, Peter, and Christina. Their community involvement and dedication to their customers truly makes Scatchell's a special kind of place. Besides many satisfied customers; celebrities like Joe Mantegna and the Food Network's, Jeff Mauro, have become real fans.
Scatchell's Beef, Pizza and Dogs are proud members of the Vienna Beef Hot Dog Hall of Fame.
